THE BACKSTORY

The Commission for Developing Scotland’s Young Workforce highlighted the need for concerted action to tackle the problem of youth unemployment.

Developing the Young Workforce (DYW) Ayrshire was set up to implement the Commission’s recommendations at a local level.

They needed to engage with young people, schools, colleges, universities, employers and local authorities.
