The Munje Tunusuru Women’s Group is a grassroots collective in coastal Kenya working to restore mangrove forests and empower women through conservation. In collaboration with Design for Good and Cordio East Africa, we were tasked with improving their digital visibility to attract global support, boost donations, and improve search engine rankings. The work was completed entirely pro bono.
We enhanced the existing website with a new content strategy, user-friendly structure, and SEO optimisation. The design focused on clarity, accessibility, and authenticity reflecting the group’s voice through storytelling, clean visuals, and a mobile-first approach. We implemented structured data, meta descriptions, and keyword-targeted content to improve organic reach, while also providing the team with tools to manage the site independently.
The updated website significantly improved engagement, search visibility, and international reach. For the first time, the group began receiving donor interest and partnership enquiries from outside Kenya. The project delivered fully on its brief creating a sustainable, accessible digital platform to support the group’s environmental and social impact.
