The Ochiltree Community Hub was a project first started in May 2013 when the old centre and library were earmarked as likely to close. The hub is now run by the local community, with an active board of trustees and volunteers, and has a cafe, book point and community room which can be hired out.
The OCH aims to improve the communities health and well-being, social inclusion and social capital through the communities willingness to help each other. All profits generated by the hub will be re-invested into the facility and services supplied through building sustainability into all activity. A community development approach has been taken, where the board of trustees will listen to the community and value their knowledge, skills and experience, in order to reduce inequalities and rural isolation in the community.
The board of trustees for the OCH approached Launch with the need of creating an inspirational website in order to showcase the values of the new community facility, as well as tell the story of the hub using a progression timeline. Launch worked with the board to develop a new visually engaging, attractive and user friendly website that reflects the values of the community and promotes the improvements made within Ochiltree.
